Why HourMath
We encode real state daily-overtime rules (California, Alaska, Colorado, Nevada) cited to statute — not just the federal 40-hour rule everyone else stops at.
Instant answers. No email wall, no account, no upsell to get your result.
Every calculation runs in your browser. Your hours and pay never leave your device.
Your timesheet is remembered on this device, prints cleanly, and you can copy a link to send a filled-in card to anyone.
How to use this time card calculator
Enter each day's start and end time in either 12-hour (9:00 AM)
or 24-hour (17:30) format. Put unpaid lunch or break time in
the Break column in minutes. The calculator subtracts breaks, totals each
day, and sums your week. Add your hourly rate to see regular and overtime
pay — overtime defaults to 1.5× after 40 hours, but you can change both the
threshold and multiplier, or use the
overtime calculator for state rules.
Frequently asked questions
How does the time card calculator work?
Enter your clock-in and clock-out time for each day and any unpaid break minutes. The calculator totals each day and your weekly hours instantly. Add your hourly rate to also see gross pay, including overtime.
How is overtime calculated?
By default, hours over 40 in a week are paid at 1.5× your hourly rate. You can change the weekly overtime threshold and the multiplier to match your employer — or use the dedicated overtime calculator for state daily-overtime rules.
Does it handle overnight or night shifts?
Yes. If your clock-out time is earlier than your clock-in time, the calculator assumes the shift crossed midnight and adds 24 hours automatically.
Is my data saved or sent anywhere?
Your entries are saved only in your own browser so they are still here when you come back. Nothing is uploaded, stored on a server, or shared — unless you choose to copy a shareable link.
